Composed sonic environments for inward exploration.

Maison Moemoea

Maison Moemoea

explores how sound can create conditions

for new ways of perceiving ourselves and the world around us.

Through live gatherings, recorded editions

and site responsive commissions,

sound becomes a material

through which perception, awareness and imagination

can unfold.

Sound is approached not simply as a medium to be heard,

but as a material through which our relationship with ourselves and the world

can be explored.

Whether experienced individually or collectively, each work remains open to

individual experience and interpretation.

Maison Moemoea

is conceived, composed and led by Emma Winter,

a British multidisciplinary artist.

Winter’s wider practice explores perception, atmosphere and the emotional resonance of space.

Winter approaches each gathering as a complete artistic encounter,

with every element considered with care,

from the invitation and setting to the unfolding of the work.

Her approach to vibrational sound combines professional training with years of intuitive exploration, reflecting an enduring curiosity about the ways resonance can shape awareness and perception.

In each gathering, Winter works live and responsively.

Composed soundscapes, field recordings, voice, vibrational instruments and silence are woven together intuitively

in response to the acoustics of the space and the collective presence within it.
